Christmas lights are up all over Tulsa and if you’re hoping to see some new ones, the Tulsa Botanic Garden is the place to go.
Organizers say the seasonal event drew around 13,000 people last year. This year the 4th Annual Garden of Lights has already been a popular attraction.
As if the garden wasn't beautiful enough as it is, now imagine it covered in Christmas lights. You can stroll through with some hot chocolate, make s'mores by a fire pit, or even have a snowball fight.
The event kicked off on Black Friday. Communications Director Lori Hutson says Sunday night was sold out with around 700 people there.
She says this is a major fundraiser for the garden since it's a non-profit.
There are different festivities and food trucks each weekend, along with live jazz music on Sundays.
Hutson recommends buying tickets in advance and it's cheaper. She says they worked with the landscapes and architects who designed the garden to design the lights display.
"They got really creative with the designs in the different areas, so like in our children's garden here, we have a certain color palette and certain theme. And then we have some whimsical characters like our ice giants and our frost bison,” Hutson said. "We really want people to make their holiday plans, come out and start a new tradition if it's their first time here."
The Tulsa Botanic Garden of Lights is open this weekend and starting next Thursday, open every night until January 2.
