With some Tulsans coming back from Christmas, health experts say it could cause the Omicron variant to spread faster.
Some travelers, however, say they are okay taking their chances with the virus
Right now, the Oklahoma Department of Health says there are 7000 active COVID cases and have already detected the Omicron variant in the state.
The department also reported another 68 deaths between December 12 and December 18.
Health experts say it is crucial for people to continue to wear masks and get the vaccine along with the booster.
Some travelers though say they don't feel any fear despite the rise in cases.
Jim Joice, who regularly travels for work, says even though he is traveling less now, he'd rather fly carefree.
"I've always been of the opinion to each their own," Joice said. "If you're concerned, do what you feel are the necessary measures for yourself. I've never been in favor of mandates of anything. Don't mandate anything. Let me take care of me."
More than 500,000 booster shots have been administered.
