Many students across Green Country will be pulling out their Chromebooks and learning from home on Friday morning.

Several districts have switched to distance learning because of staffing shortages.

At least seven Tulsa Public School locations will be in distance learning on Friday because of staffing shortages.

The semester just started on Tuesday for TPS.

McLain and Rogers high schools have been in distance learning all week, and a number of other schools are now also suspending in-person learning.

Those schools include Central, Emerson, Hale, Hawthrone and Monroe.

But it's not just TPS, the problem is affecting many school districts.

Broken Arrow Public Schools says freshman academy students will be remote on Friday because too many staff are out sick.

Union moved the entire district online on Friday because of an increase in COVID-19 cases within the district. Claremore Public Schools says Will Rogers Junior High will also be in distance learning for the same reason.

Claremore and Broken Arrow plan to return to in-person learning on Monday, but most school districts say it's best for parents to keep an eye on their email, the school's Facebook page or website for any changes next week.
