Two new art exhibits are opening, for the month of January, at Living Arts of Tulsa Gallery. Both exhibitions will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., during First Friday.
One exhibit called “Three Ring Art Thing” features 4 different artists and different types of artwork, from pop art to graffiti and photography.
Faith Green is the curator and her artwork is part of the exhibition.
Green said her art is colorful, pop art that is outside of the box and makes a statement.
She's bringing her Louisiana style to Tulsa, where she connected with three other artists for her exhibit. Their work combines all different styles.
"Finding the right place, the right time, the right people, and by having these four artists come in with me to do this, it was a perfect opportunity,” Green said.
Another exhibit up this month is called Preserve/Decay by Mirella Martinez.
Martinez uses items like cigarettes and jewelry to create unique artwork representing the beauty in life's imperfections.
Living Arts of Tulsa Gallery and Communications Manager, Sina McLin, said admission to the gallery is free. They want to make art accessible to everyone.
"It's a really cool balance. I feel like that this is pop art, super colorful, it's really fun. And then Mirella's work has also some cool resin pieces but it's a little darker, grittier, but they really vibe with each other which is why we paired them up,” McLin said.
The exhibitions will be on display for 2 weeks.
