Payne County Issues Burn Ban Due To Drought, Fire Danger

County commissioners in Payne County issued a 2 week burn ban, due to the drought and high fire danger.

The ban will run through January 24.

Payne County emergency management said the county commissioners will review the ban at each weekly meeting until conditions improve.

About 2 dozen counties in western Oklahoma are also under burn bans.
