Broken Arrow Public Schools announced that all school sites will transition to distance learning on Friday, January 14.

Students grades Pre-K through 12 will return to the classroom on Tuesday, January 18.

According to the district, 441 BAPS employees are currently absent due to illness other various reasons.

The district says that 97 substitute teachers were needed on Thursday and only 42 of those spots were filled. The absences have created extreme hardships on the school site as they work to cover all the classrooms.

All Level 2 and 3 special education students will continue to report to in-person classes unless communicated otherwise.

Extracurricular activities will also continue as scheduled.
