Winter Storm Watch Issued For Most Of Northeast Oklahoma

A winter storm watch is in effect for most of northeastern Oklahoma through Friday

A significant winter system is expected to move in and will impact much of the state midweek. According to the latest data, rain will start Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with temperatures slowly dropping. Light rain changes to light freezing rain north of Tulsa on Wednesday morning as temps start to fall below freezing.

Much heavier and more widespread precipitation is expected to arrive Wednesday night arrives with rain, sleet, and even snow possible. By very early Thursday morning more areas further south will see some snow changeover, but precipitation rates will be starting to taper off.

Another round of light-moderate snow looks to move through Thursday afternoon through Thursday night.

The Winter Storm Watch currently impacts Osage, Washington, Nowata, Craig, Ottawa, Pawnee, Tulsa, Rogers, Mayes, Delaware, Creek, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Wagoner, Cherokee, Adair, Muskogee, McIntosh and Pittsburg counties until 12 a.m. on Friday, February 4.
