A Claremore mother and son have been arrested for murder after a deadly shooting Sunday night.
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office says Gary Hubble shot and killed a man who was on a motorcycle, and his mother, Lynda O’Fields, is the one who handed him the gun.
Investigators say they are trying to make sense of what happened. They say Hubble was on his porch when he shot the victim, Mike Hansen, with a rifle. But, the victim was 60 feet away, in the road, on his motorcycle.

They say a woman called 911, saying her neighbor had shot and killed her friend Mike Hansen. It didn’t take long for deputies to arrest Gary Hubble.
“Suspect shoots the victim on his motorcycle either slow-rolling or he just came to a stop because the lock stand was up on the motorcycle,” said Sheriff Scott Walton.
Investigators say the woman who called 911 said Hubble had walked down to her house and was taking pictures of her and her friends and their license plates, then left.
She said a short time later, the victim got on his motorcycle and was driving past Hubble's house when she heard gunshots.
Investigators say Hubble and his mother Lynda O’Fields said the victim parked his motorcycle in front of their house and was going to attack them.
“The first statements out of the shooter and the mother were conflicting and didn’t match the evidence that was there and was later recanted,” said Walton.
Sheriff Walton says O’Fields handed her son the gun, knowing he is a convicted felon and isn’t allowed to have a gun.
“An ex-con that knows he can’t have a weapon requesting that his mother go in and get the weapon, and she does. Gets it out of a cabinet, gives it to her son to shoot this guy that we can’t show shows any aggressive threat whatsoever. People expect these stories to be told and make sense, but unfortunately, they just don’t always make sense,” said Walton.
Investigators say the victim wasn’t armed and they haven’t found any evidence he was threatening the suspects.
