The Tulsa Fire Marshal is investigating after a van caught fire early Wednesday morning. It happened in a driveway near East Pine and North Yale.

The owner of the van told News On 6 that he sometimes lives in the van, but was not inside when the fire broke out. He says his two dogs were inside at that time and one of them was not able to escape.

Fire crews say they were called to the fire around 2:30 Wednesday morning. They say when they arrived they couldn't get to the flames quickly because there was a lot of clutter around and inside the vehicle.

There were two dogs inside at the time of the fire, one of them was able to escape and run away, but has since been found by the owner. The other dog died.

The van owner says he will be seeking out Red Cross assistance while he gets back on his feet.

According to fire crews, the fire spread to the houses on both sides of the van and did cause damage, but not enough to leave anyone displaced.
