When the PGA of America decided to move their 1994 championship from Oak Tree in Edmond, Southern Hills stepped in. Stepping into the role of the hottest player in golf was Nick Price.

Price was coming off a victory at the previous major -- the British open -- and continued at a high level, taking the lead after the opening 18. That Friday was also Arnold Palmer's final round in the PGA Championship.
