Former Hydro Assistant Police Chief Sentenced For Child Sex Crimes

A Caddo County judge has sentenced a former assistant police chief to more than 10 years for multiple child sex crimes.

Tyler Davis, the 37-year-old former assistant police chief in Hydro, will serve his sentences of 10.5 years with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections on four counts of child pornography possession, first-degree rape and three counts of child sexual abuse.

Davis pleaded no contest to the eight counts he faced in a Caddo County courtroom back in April.

The judge handed down a sentence of 12 years for the first four counts and a 25-year sentence for the final three counts. The latter sentence had 13 of those years suspended, reducing the second sentence to 12 years.

The judge also decided that the two sentences will be served simultaneously. Davis will also get credit for the year and a half he has spent in jail already, reducing his total sentence time to 10.5 years.

Davis was arrested by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation back in January 2021 on child sex exploitation complaints.

According to the OSBI, a social media platform reported a user uploading sexually explicit files of a pre-pubescent girl to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who then notified the OSBI when it was discovered the user's internet provider address was traced to Oklahoma.

Internet Crimes Against Children agents with the OSBI arrested Davis and booked him into the Grady County jail at the time.
