Some shower chances stick around on Monday morning as warmer temperatures return.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
A few spotty showers will remain possible today, mostly south of the Tulsa metro, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Temps will remain near normal for the next few days, before briefly climbing to near 94 Thursday through Saturday. No significant heat index values are likely to occur, but slightly muggy weather is likely at times for the next few days.
The precipitation this past weekend was consistent across a large area of central to southern OK. A few storms impacted northeastern OK Saturday evening with heavy rainfall and gusty winds, but most locations remained dry. By Sunday, most of the rain was positioned slightly west and south of the Tulsa metro for the day, but we did have some spotty showers in Tulsa Sunday afternoon. Some patchy fog is possible this morning in some of the locations that received rainfall this weekend as clouds begin to thin this morning.
A weak upper air flow will keep a mid-level trough positioned mostly across northern Texas today and slowly move this feature mostly east over the next 48 hours. Flood watches are posted over a large area of north TX into far southern OK. There’s an outside chance this wave could migrate slightly more northward and bring additional showers back into southern OK Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll keep low-end chances for this scenario for our friends in the southeastern quadrant of the state.
The next upper-level disturbance should move out of the Rockies and across the state this weekend bringing a few scattered showers and storms into the area Saturday evening and Sunday morning to midday. Our probabilities will remain in the 20 to 30% camp for now.
Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
Alan Crone
