A Tulsa man has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison for neglecting his five-year-old step-daughter, with special needs, so severely, that she weighed only 19 Lbs.

A Tulsa man has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison for neglecting his five-year-old step-daughter, with special needs, so severely, that she weighed only 19 Lbs.

Victor Castro-Huerta admitted that he did not provide adequate care for the girl who suffers from cerebral palsy.

Castro-Huerta has already served six years in federal prison and has a 35-year sentence in state prison as well.

His case is the one that led to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling last year that says Oklahoma does have jurisdiction to prosecute non-Native Americans when the victims are Native American and the crimes occur on Native land.
