A Mannford man is looking for answers after his wife was hit by a truck that left her on the side of the road.
Jennifer Eli was walking along West 41st Street South in Mannford when she suddenly blacked out and woke up in a ditch, after a driver hit her on the side of the road.
Hospital bills are now arriving in her mailbox, but she has no one to hold accountable.
"It's just a huge setback for her in a lot of different ways and for all of us as a family,” Jennifer’s husband, Robert McClary said.
McClary said his wife called him on August 23. He said she was confused and wasn’t making any sense.
"As soon as she called, I could tell something was wrong within just the first 10 seconds. I put her on speaker phone so my son could try to make sense of it, too,” McClary said.
When he and his son found Jennifer, she was alone in a ditch. McClary said Jennifer was confused about how she got there. McClary noticed red paint on Jennifer’s clothing, broken glass near the road, and a broken mirror from the side of vehicle.
"With the red paint on her hip, on her clothes, and with the red mirror laying there, it was obvious she had been hit by a red vehicle,” McClary said.
McClary said after researching, he's narrowed the vehicle to a red Ford F-150 between 1997-2003.
"I feel like I'm the only one driving around looking for this vehicle and the investigative part with finding the engineering number on the mirror and everything, that was my work,” McClary said.
McClary said he is very understanding and hopes the person responsible will come forward.
"Tell us why you didn't stop. I mean, come explain yourself. She's pretty bad injured and we have a long road ahead,” McClary said.
OHP said troopers are increasing their patrols throughout the area and if anyone has information about who hit Jennifer, you can call OHP at 918-627-0440.
