Parts of Oklahoma are experiencing near-record cold and a local organization is opening its doors to help people stay warm.

John 3:16 Mission is reminding people that it is open 24/7 as a warming station and that the facility also provides free meals and counseling. The organization is encouraging people to help with donations this fall and winter as it's seeing a high number of people needing financial assistance.

"Things we never get, things like packages of underwear and socks, the kinds of things people need," said Rev Steve Whitaker, Senior Pastor John 3:16 Mission.

John 3:16 Mission will also be collecting coats. Anyone in need of a warm place is welcome.
