A young man with autism is now reunited with his family after getting lost at Turkey Mountain.

Tulsa police said he was hiking with his family when he got scared by an ambulance responding to a wreck on 71st nearby.

Several officers and firefighters searched the area for 45 minutes. Some people walking on the paved trail found him and called 911.

"It was pretty tough at first. We had so many resources tied up on that collision on 71st. But as officers were able to be relieved from that and shift changed, we got more assets in here to cover more ground," Luke Flanagan, Tulsa Police said.

Police said the man wasn't hurt and was just a little dehydrated. They want to remind people to charge their phones and pack water before hiking.
