Tulsa Police said three people are in custody Sunday night after an armed carjacking led to a crash on the Broken Arrow Expressway.
TPD said this began at about 6 p.m. when the victim received a text from a 17-year-old asking for a ride to Tulsa from Broken Arrow.
Police said one of the suspects, who has not been named, got in the car with another 17-year-old suspect who then pulled out a handgun and demanded the vehicle.
TPD said the victim called police as the suspects drove off.
Officers spotted the vehicle near 21st and Garnett about an hour later at 6:50 p.m. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled.
The car hit a media near 21st and Yale, but the pursuit continued into Downtown Tulsa where the driver lost control near the Denver exit.
TPD then arrested all three occupants. The two 17-year-olds were arrested and accused of armed robbery, while the backseat passenger, Jose Lopez, was arrested for joyriding.
Police said an airsoft gun was recovered from the vehicle.
