House Ways And Means Committee Holds Field Meeting In Yukon

Congressman Kevin Hern and the rest of the House Ways and Means Committee were all in Yukon on Tuesday for an unusual field hearing that examined the state of the economy for American worker, farmers and families.

Committee Republicans talked about the impact of inflation and federal policies they say are bad for Oklahoma.

"Before Joe Biden took office, Oklahoma's economy was thriving. We saw significant sectors of our economy, from agriculture to manufacturing to energy, create new job opportunities," said Rep. Kevin Hern. "Now, restrictive trade policies, as was mentioned, an unnecessary tax increase are eliminating the ability of farmer, energy producers and manufacturers to compete in the global marketplace.

The top Democrat on the committee highlighted the Biden Administration's expanded Child Tax Credit for 800,000 children in Oklahoma.
