A massive "playground" for grown-ups is coming to downtown Tulsa, complete with food, bars, live music, outdoor sports, and maybe even a Ferris Wheel.
Right now the corner of 2nd and Hartford is home to Alley Cat Ranch barbeque, but this food truck is just the start of a massive new food and entertainment concept in downtown Tulsa. Pitmaster Nick Corcoran is ready for a Friday lunch crowd at Alley Cat Ranch.
"It’s Barbecue at its core," said Corcoran. "I try to be adventurous and have a little bit of fun.”
Nick has been cooking up BBQ since 2011, working at BurnCo and other places along the way. VP of operations Tom Pritner approached him last year with a new concept from Watershed Hospitality which owns restaurants like Kilkenny’s and Nolas.
“I always trust his BBQ, so I think, let's go big," said Pritner.
Pritner said his company has big plans for the acre of space at 2nd and Hartford.
Alley Cat Ranch will expand from a food truck to a building with two kitchens that could feed up to 2000 people a day, three bars, including one on the second story, outdoor games like pickleball, cornhole, and giant battleship, a stage for live music, even a Ferris Wheel if they can swing it.
“You kind of make your own fun," Pritner said.
Customers are already catching on just two weeks after the food truck opened, which makes Nick think this big new concept is just what downtown needs.
“It’s daunting, but it’ll be a lot of fun," Corcoran said.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday starting at 11, until they run out of BBQ around 2:30 p.m. The entire Alley Cat Ranch development is set to open sometime next summer.
