Oklahoma Angler Edwin Evers Takes 3rd Place At The REDCREST Championship In North Carolina

A new Major League Fishing Champion has been crowned.

Bryan Thrift walked away with the 2023 REDCREST Trophy and the $300,000 prize with a big win in his home state of North Carolina and a three-day total of over 46 pounds.

The final day was grueling from start to finish amid cold and rainy conditions on Lake Norman.

Oklahoma's Own Edwin Evers finished with more than 41 pounds, taking the number three spot, which came with a nice payout, too.

Evers earned $40,000 for third place and walked away with several thousand dollars more for catching the biggest bass of the five-day tournament, a six-pounder, on the first day of qualifying rounds.

The other two Oklahoma pros, Zack Birge and James Elam, did not make it to the final rounds of the Championship.
