Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond says his office is working to clear out the backlog of Open Records requests.
Drummond said his office has already completed 100 requests since January and noted that some of the requests went back several years.
“I believe strongly in openness and transparency in government, and I will continue to aggressively enforce the Open Records and Open Meetings Acts across state government,” said Drummond. “A transparent government begets a better government, as it exposes bad actors while attracting public officials who act with honesty and integrity.”
Drummond said two-thirds of the completed requests were filed before he took office.
