The City of Tulsa is planning to automate more than 145,000 water meters.
The new meters will automatically collect water use data and send it to the city.
The city says it will take about three to five years to finish, but city leaders say it will drastically reduce water bill estimates once all meters are installed.
Crews will also inspect water pipes as part of the program, to make sure there aren't any lead pipes or connectors still being used in Tulsa's oldest homes.
