Man Receives Life Sentence For Murder Of His Mother And Grandmother

A man has received a life sentence for murdering his mother and grandmother in Sequoyah County in 2019.

Federal prosecutors said Joseph Hernandez, 34, killed both women at their home in Marble City.

Hernandez doused both women, 62-year-old Audrey Hernandez and 79-year-old Francis Wright, with gasoline and then set them on fire, prosecutors said.

A jury found Hernandez guilty in November of 2022.

He was sentenced to an additional 20 years for arson.
