Multi-Vehicle Crash On I-44 Kills 1, Injures 2 Others

A crash on I-44 westbound in Tulsa on Monday killed one person and sent two others to the hospital, authorities say.

The three-vehicle crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. at Union Ave in Tulsa County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP said the passenger in a 2007 Chevy Impala, 56-year-old Denise Pierce, died at the scene.

The driver of that vehicle was taken to a Tulsa hospital with multiple injures. OHP says that person is stable.

The driver of a 2020 Chevy Silverado, a female, was also taken to the hospital.

The third vehicle involved was a 2017 Ford F-750, whose male driver was not injured, OHP says.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
