Tulsa Woman's Family Says They Want Answers After Her Suspicious Death

Family and friends are celebrating the life of a Tulsa woman who died in a house fire last week.

Firefighters say they found Ashley Corona in a room that was mostly untouched by the fire.

Family members say they are still seeking answers about Ashley's death.

They tell News On 6's Lex Rodriguez things just don't add up and that Ashley was particularly organized.

When they saw her house, they believe there was a struggle.

Ashley Corona was laid to rest on Saturday, but her family says they are just getting started with their investigation.

"We're doing more investigating than anybody. We know who it is and they need to turn themselves in and tell us what happened to Ashley," co-worker Christina Joseph said.

Firefighters responded to a house fire where they found Ashley unconscious in a room. Firefighters say there was smoke damage in the room, but there wasn't any charring or fire damage.

Ashley was transported to the hospital where she later died.

"Sadness hasn't hit me yet, because I've been angry more than I've been grieving," Ashley's uncle Marquis Fuentes said.

Ashley's family isn't alone in thinking her death is suspicious. Investigators say there are some red flags in the case.

"Ashley was a neat person. So, things were out of place that she would not allow and I could tell that there was a struggle in the house," Fuentes said.

"We're looking for closure. We need closure and we know there's other things going on in Tulsa, but this was somebody that was dear to our heart," Fuentes said.

They say they are trying to be patient, but if someone is responsible, they want that person held accountable.

"We're probably going to relive this multiple times before we actually get some kind of closure. I don't like the term "closure" because the type of person Ashley was. You can't get closure on something that you will never forget," Fuentes said.

The cause of Ashley's death and the cause of the fire are still under investigation.
