Pro Golfer Talor Gooch Visits With Fans Ahead Of Broken Arrow LIV Event

Pro golfer Talor Gooch is meeting some of his biggest fans before the LIV Golf tournament in Broken Arrow this week.

Wilson and Denver Whitley watched Gooch win LIV Golf tournaments in Australia and Singapore.

Their dreams came true when they met Gooch Sunday.

"Talor Gooch, he's really nice in person too, and he will fight until the end,” said Wilson.

"When you meet someone that you know is popular, it's just very cool to see someone that you know is doing good things for a good cause, and it's just fun," said Denver.

Gooch was out talking to fans and promoting his foundation, which helps the Oklahoma groups, “Positive Tomorrows,” “Hope is Alive,” and the “Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour.”

"Golf is just a vehicle,” said Gooch. “It's a vehicle to be able to meet people and to impact people's lives, and that's what golf has done for me."

Gooch says giving back to the kids who watch golf is important, because he remembers being in their place.

"I was that kid,” said Gooch. “I wanted to meet the professional golfers that I wanted to be like, and so to have a chance to meet these kids and get to sign stuff for them and to hang out, man it's cool. I was that kid, so I know how cool it is for them."

Denver says watching Gooch is more than just fun, because Gooch also teaches valuable life lessons.

"When he messes something up, he just keeps on going, and that's something that's really good about him," said Denver.

The Gooch Foundation is also hosting a pro-am tournament Monday morning and the proceeds from that will go to Oklahoma-based groups the foundation supports.
