Mother, Son Found Dead In Broken Arrow Home; Husband Being Treated For Self-Inflicted Wound

Police are investigating a double homicide in Broken Arrow on Wednesday.

Police said 48-year-old Annette Hammock and her 17-year-old son were found dead at a home near 2500 West Honolulu Street around 11 a.m.

Fifty-year-old Phillip Hammock is being treated for what’s believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said Phillip was found in the home with the deceased.

Ethan Hutchins with BAPD said investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

The Broken Arrow Police Department was called to the home for a welfare check made by a family member.

Broken Arrow Police also confirmed that the FBI has been called because there is a "tribal element" to the case.

Broken Arrow Public Schools said Annette's son attended BAPS since he was a young child.

The district sent a statement, saying in part: "It is with deep sadness that I inform you about a loss to our school community. Earlier today, one of our students died unexpectedly. This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students."

The school said counselors will be available for students and staff.
