Concession workers are putting the final touches on stands throughout Cedar Ridge Country Club for the LIV Golf tournament.
Many people from the area will be serving something cold in the tents and behind the wheel. Food items like burgers and chicken wraps start at $11. Water bottles are listed at $4, while most domestic beers will start around $10 each. There will also be pop and snacks throughout the concession stands. To help keep the lines short, some concessions will be on wheels.
“We’ll be serving out everything from non-alcoholic to alcoholic drinks,” said Stephanie Jane’t, a beverage cart driver. “We also have some snacks in the cooler, so we’ll keep everybody hydrated and fed.”
This isn’t her first gig behind the wheel. She’s usually driving around and serving golfers at courses like LaFortune.
“It’s fun seeing a lot of my regulars out here,” she said. “They’re recognizing me popping up everywhere.”
Broken Arrow-based company Ellis Hospitality will staff 200 local workers to serve up food and drinks at the high-dollar hospitality suites. Owner Lindsey Scotney says the experience has been busy, but exciting.
“This one is significantly larger in size but it’s really been fantastic to see the VIP processes and all of the things that the LIV tournament has brought into Tulsa,” she said.
Scortney started her business two years ago amid hospitality staffing issues in the pandemic. In addition to the tournament, she also has staff working in downtown at Mayfest.
“It’s really been kind of a surprise and a dream come true of how quickly it’s grown,” she said. “This particular event has been a really, really good opportunity to showcase Tulsa and showcase the local talent that we have here.”
The tournament is cashless so anyone going out will have to pay with a card.
