WWII Era Bomb Found At Atoka Golf Course During Sprinkler Installation

Folks at the Atoka Trails Golf Course made a surprising discovery while installing a new sprinkler system.

During the installation, crews dug up a WWII era shell bomb. The course was built in the 1970s, and the superintendent says he's not sure how it got there.

"They came up and X-rayed it twice, couldn't determine whether it was a live round or not, so they had to dispose of it." said, Monty Lawless from Atoka Trails Golf Course.

The ATF says it does not often find bombs from that time period.
