Close to 100 kids are learning life lessons and getting new bikes thanks to the Terrance Crutcher Foundation.
R.I.S.E, which stands for resiliency, inclusion, social awareness, and education, is back for its second year.
It's a partnership with the USA BMX Foundation where 90 North Tulsa middle schoolers learn about STEAM, mentorships and social awareness.
Each kid got a new bike to take care of, practiced bike safety, and learned how to do tricks while riding on the USA BMX track.
"At the end of every session they have a time to journal not only about what happened at the track, but also how they're feeling, all the lessons they learned, and they bring that back into their communities," Jayla Simone Meeks, Terrence Crutcher Foundation Policy Chair.
At the end of the program, the kids get to keep the bikes. All of the bikes were donated by Hyper.
