Cherokee Nation Breaks Ground On New Wellness Center In Stilwell

The Cherokee Nation broke ground on a new wellness center in Stilwell on Tuesday afternoon.

The Nation showed digital renderings of what the finished center will look like.

According to the Cherokee Nation, the 50,000-square-foot building will have a fitness center, daycare teaching kitchen and classroom. The center will also have walking trails and places for traditional games.

The tribe says the new health center is set to cost about $18 million.

The new center is being built next to the Wilma Mankiller Health Center.
