Sand Springs Family Of 6 Needing Help Removing Tree From Home After Storm

A family of six in Sand Springs is staying with friends because two trees collapsed onto their house during the Father’s Day storms.

To make matters worse, the family does not have insurance. This leaves the family under a lot of pressure.

Josh Jacobs and Reena Euler said they woke up to the horrible sound of a tree falling onto their roof and into their home.

“Me and my girlfriend were asleep in our bedroom, and this tree over here came down through our roof, landed on us,” said Jacobs.

Two trees fell onto their Sand Springs home.

They have removed the one that came way too close for comfort and covered that part of the roof, but an even bigger tree is a concern now.

"It's pretty bad inside,” said Jacobs. “All the insulation's hanging out, holes in the roof. We lost our home. It doesn't look like home anymore.”

Jacobs is trying to remove as much weight as possible from the house. Euler worries about his safety and where their family will live.

"I'm falling apart inside, but I've got to, everyone says be strong for your kids,” said Euler.

Euler said between the pandemic, and both more recently being laid off, they could not afford homeowners insurance, and then were rejected because of the home's condition.

"So what I'm needing is somebody with an innovative idea to brace it or lift it long enough for people to get up there, volunteers, to help get the branches off, but right now, our biggest concern is other people's safety and getting it braced up or held up somehow,” said Euler.

Two men stopped by to see how they could help. They prayed with Euler, and said they would return the next day with ideas and equipment.

"I’m starting to feel more hopeful than I have felt all week,” said Euler.
