Medical Minute: Updated Covid-19 Vaccine Approved, Okla. Is Preparing For Shipment

Just before the CDC approved the vaccine, Oklahoma Officials were already planning for the shipment.

Health experts say they're expecting a shipment by the end of this month or early October.

The new school year and the changing seasons always seems to be a time when people get sick.

And this year, it's not just things like the flu and allergies that are having people feel under the weather, it's Covid-19.

State health officials say more people are testing positive in recent weeks than any other point this year, and this comes as the FDA approves the updated Covid vaccine.

This new shot is cleared for everyone six months old and up.

Federal regulators say most people can get a single dose regardless if they've been vaccinated before.

Doctors say the new vaccine is tailored to fight the Covid-19 variant making the rounds nationwide.
