Everyone wants a warm and loving home for the holidays, but many animals don't get that opportunity.
Tulsa Animal Welfare is doing something different to help give the animals at its facility a chance to find one.
On Saturday, the shelter put together a "Home for the PAWlidays" event to help community members and animals meet each other.
The shelter hosted an open house for the public to tour the facility, meet the team and possibly even meet a pet to adopt.
Along with the PAWlidays event, Tulsa Animal Welfare is waiving all adoption fees through Dec. 31st. Those fees include vaccinations, microchips and spay and neuter.
Tulsa Animal Welfare manager Sherri Carrier said this is a great event to get involved with the community and have them see what the shelter does.
"Well the community helps us and obviously we're taking care of community animals, so we want them to come out and view our cats, dogs, any other exotic pets that we have here up for adoption and hopefully take them home and have them there for the holidays," Carrier said.
