People are stocking up on everything they may need to stay warm this weekend, including firewood.

Todd Rickert, the owner of Rickert Landscaping and Tree Service, says things get pretty busy before the first blast of winter, and this week has been no different.

"I can tell you yesterday we probably had 100 customers in here yesterday getting firewood alone, and this morning, I'm guessing we've already had a dozen people in," he said.

He says his crews have been busy getting the firewood ready.

A lot of it comes from trees from the Father's Day storms, and there are a lot of options people can pick from.

"One of the main things to look at when you are looking at a piece of firewood is how it kind of cracks together. It's going to give an indication that's a lower moisture content, which will make the wood easier to burn," he said.

He says that even though it's been cold, he's grateful and is happy to help people.

"It's almost like the holiday Christmas rush, but instead of Christmas presents, it's firewood they are putting in the living room," he said.

He says they do plan to be open in Owasso on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

He says they have different bundles and options of firewood ranging from $8 to $135.
