One person is in custody after a short chase ended in a crash near Woodland Hills Mall Tuesday night, Tulsa Police said.
The suspect was caught in a stolen pickup and tried to get away, but crashed out, officers said.
One of TPD's flock cameras scanned the truck's license plate near 71st and Highway 169 and alerted officers that the pick-up had been reported stolen, police said.
An officer pulled the suspect over near the mall, police said. But when the officer got out of his vehicle the suspect took off, prompting the chase, police said.
The suspect led officers around the back side of the mall onto Memorial, officers said.
He swerved to miss a vehicle, veered off the road, and rolled into a fence, according to police.
The chase lasted less than two minutes and speeds were around 40 miles per hour, police said.
Officers said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The suspect is a juvenile and was alert before EMSA took him to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to police.
Police said they are not releasing the suspect's name since he's underage.
Once he's out of the hospital, he will be booked into jail for driving a stolen vehicle and running from officers, police said.
