New Pharmacy In East Tulsa Aims To Better Serve Spanish-Speaking Community

The owner of Unidos Pharmacy, located on East 17th Place near South Garnett Road, said they are focused on being able to properly serve East Tulsa's Spanish-speaking community.

A new pharmacy in East Tulsa is working to ensure the community's Spanish-speaking residents receive the care they need.

The owner of Unidos Pharmacy, located on East 17th Place near South Garnett Road, said they are focused on giving their patients the service and care they deserve.

Unidos Pharmacy opened this past weekend, and is a fully functioning pharmacy that offers prescription services, 24/7 refills, immunizations and more.

Pharmacy owner Jason Hart said the name Unidos, meaning united in Spanish, represents the dense Hispanic part of Tulsa Hart has been a pharmacist in for 14 years.

At Unidos, Hart said, the goal is to provide people with the most accurate information and to make them feel respected in the process. 

Hart said the pharmacy is committed to having a fully bilingual staff to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for. 

"We're committed to making sure they can do that 100% of the time," Hart said. "Communication is key. If you don't get the right directions on your medication, it could [have] dire consequences.

Unidos accepts SoonerSelect, Medicaid and uninsured patients, and are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
