Cleveland County Inmate Dies After Medical Episode

William Moore, 36, was found unresponsive in his bunk around 11 p.m. Friday. Staff initiated CPR and transported Moore to the Norman Regional where he was pronounced dead.

An inmate at the Cleveland County Detention Center has died after a medical episode, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.

William Moore, 36, was found unresponsive in his bunk around 11 p.m. Friday. Staff initiated CPR and transported Moore to the Norman Regional where he was pronounced dead.

Staff say there were no signs of physical trauma, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department. The medical examiner will determine the cause of Moore's death.

The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and OSBI are investigating the death.

Moore was booked into the detention center Dec. 13, 2022 after he was arrested on aggravated trafficking of illegal substances and firearms violations charges. Moore had been convicted and sentenced for some of the charges and was waiting to be transferred to the Department of Corrections.
