A new campaign from the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is working to provide fresh produce to the communities they serve.

As part of the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma's mission to help end food insecurity, the organization is also working to provide fresh produce and ensure those they serve receive proper nutrition.

The food bank provides food to more than 600 feeding partners in 24 counties throughout eastern Oklahoma, and Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma CEO, Jeff Marlow, says their mission has always been not just to ensure no one goes to bed hungry, but also to have access to nutritious food.

“It’s our goal that over 60% of the products that come out of the Food Bank over the next three years will be fresh produce," Marlow said. "In order to do that, we have to bring awareness to it and really ramp it up and get it into areas, not just the Tulsa area and the surrounding area, but in that rural Oklahoma [area]."

Marlow says the goal of this new campaign is to increase the distribution of fresh produce to reach people in need, while also informing the public that their donations directly impact their community.
