A Glenpool man has been found guilty of killing his wife and dumping her body in a creek in 2022.

Tulsa County Judge Sharon Holmes found Michael Jimenez guilty of first-degree murder Friday morning in the death of Erica Evans Jimenez.

Tulsa County prosecutors said Erica was brutally killed by her husband inside her home while her three children were there. Jimenez said the day his wife died, she was drunk and hurt herself by falling several times, but the medical examiner testified that Erica’s injuries were consistent with being stomped on, beaten, and strangled.

Erica’s loved ones filled the courtroom this week, including Kyle Evans, who is her ex-husband and the father of her children.

“It's a long time for the family to wait; it's a long time for the children to wait,” said Evans. “It's been an extremely difficult two years.”

Prosecutors asked the judge to sentence Michael Jimenez to life without parole. He will be sentenced on October 7.
