Mental health advocates from across the country will come together Wednesday to talk about how to treat mental illness from the cradle to the grave.
The Mental Health Association’s Zarrow Mental Health Symposium has been a part of Green Country for 30 years.
Dr. Cheryl Delk from MHAOK said this year's symposium is called "Life Stages: Mental Health Across a Lifetime." She said the event will focus on mental health at all stages of life.
Mental health experts will discuss how genetics, family history, environment, and experiences impact our mental well-being.
Dr. Delks said mental health affects everybody in different ways.
"We all come through our journey based on our experiences, our perceptions, how we feel about ourselves, how we feel about the world, and when we go somewhere to learn more about different aspects of mental health-it broadens our understanding,” Delk said.
The event is virtual and includes keynote speakers and daily sessions. Registration is available online at ZarrowSymposium.org.
The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 through Friday, Sept. 27.
