Officials say Camp Gruber near Muskogee is on standby to possible receive more evacuees.

If the base is needed, they could take up to 1,000 more people. There are less than 300-evacuees from Hurricane Katrina still staying at Camp Gruber, so officials say there's plenty room and food for those fleeing Hurricane Rita.

Camp Gruber is the only site in Oklahoma being considered to house more evacuees.
