An investigation is underway into a police shooting in Oklahoma City that killed a man being taken to jail.

It happened across the street from the Norman Regional Hospital. Oklahoma City Police say 33 year old Eldon Cooksey was a suspect in several home invasion robberies. He'd been hospitalized since Tuesday.

Cooksey was under police guard when he ran from the hospital and jumped in a car in a parking lot.

The officer chased Cooskey and then shot him. No one else was hurt.
