TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa Police officer was shaken up after his patrol car hydroplaned on an East Tulsa street and crashed Wednesday morning.
Police say the officer was northbound on 129th East Avenue near 21st Street with his lights and siren on responding to a report of an armed robbery when the car started to hydroplane.
The patrol car went off the road then hit a sign and a fence. The officer was not badly hurt, but Tulsa firefighters had to use the "jaws of life" to get him out of the car.
The officer was alert and talking, but was taken to a Tulsa hospital to be checked out.
The man who robbed the Economy Inn at 10th and Garnett got away.
