ELMHURST, Ill. -- ORU first baseman Chris Williams was named the Summit League's Baseball Player of the Week and The Golden Eagles' Alex Gonzalez was named Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.


Williams and Gonzalez received the awards based on their performances in games the week of Feb. 21-27.


Williams batted .462 in a series win against SIU-Edwardsville. He had three hits and five RBIs in the series, including a grand slam. He recorded at least one hit in each game, including a .769 slugging percentage.


He racked up six hits on the week.


Gonzalez earns his second straight Pitcher of the Week award after his performance in the second game of the series against SIU-Edwardsville.


He threw 89 pitches in eight innings, picking up his first career victory. Gonzalez had five strikeouts, one walk and no earned runs.
