Oral Roberts University freshman Fabian Zierleyn has been named Southland Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The weekly honor is the first of Zierleyn's collegiate career.
The Leer, Germany native earned his biggest victory of the season on Sunday afternoon when he bested Santiago Munoz of No. 51 Arkansas, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1). The victory boosted Zierleyn's singles record to 3-2 this season, all from the No. 1 singles spot.
Zierleyn shares the award with Peter Nagy of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Zierleyn and the Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, February 23, when they hit the road to face UMKC. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
