Two men led the Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies and the Tulsa Police Department on two separate chases early Thursday.
TCSO says deputies tried to stop the driver of a pickup truck for a defective headlight near 51st and Peoria when he drove off at a high rate of speed at about 2:20 a.m.
Deputies said speeds during the chase reached 100 mph on I-44 and Highway 169 before stopping the pickup at 77th East Avenue and Pine using spike strips. Deputies had to break the pickup's driver side window to get the driver out of the car.
Robert Kintner, 22, was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of DUI, eluding, resisting arrest and reckless driving. Inside the pickup, deputies said what they said was a large amount of beer.
Earlier in the morning, Tulsa Police officers attempted to stop another pickup truck in the 2000 block of South Sheridan, when that driver also sped away.
The chase ended near 94th East Avenue and 15th Street when the driver crashed his pickup into a ditch, got out and ran away at about 1 a.m.
Police officers searched for the man but did not find him.
