The same company that produces the TV show The Walking Dead and movies like Terminator and Aliens is also behind a new documentary about Wilma Mankiller, the first female chief of the Cherokee nation.
It's based on Mankiller's life and her fight for Native American and women's rights.
Mankiller worked her way up from an entry-level job with the Cherokee nation in 1977 to chief – a job she held for ten years.
"We look to Wilma as an incredible role model, and when we talked about doing her life, she passed away in 2010, and I think everyone felt that her story was worth of a film,” said Director and Producer, Valerie Red-Horse.
The documentary will begin filming in Oklahoma next Wednesday, before then heading to San Francisco and Los Angeles.
By the way, Mankiller is also being considered for the first woman on U.S. currency, specifically the ten dollar bill.
