TULSA, Oklahoma - American Airlines has given money to help Tulsa Public Schools as the district struggles with budget cuts.

The school district now has $50,000 to help with budget costs.

Airline officials presented a check to board members of the Foundation for Tulsa Schools Monday night.

The Together for Tulsa campaign is a month long drive through June where donors will match donations on a dollar-for dollar basis, up to $-million.  Tulsa Public Schools has reduced its budget by $13.5-million - that includes cuts to funding for 270 positions from teachers to administrators.

The school district has said donations received through Together for Tulsa would go towards things like classroom materials, supplies and books.
