City Of Tulsa Strictly Enforcing Parking Ordinances During Fair

The Tulsa State Fair begins Thursday, and the City of Tulsa says it will strictly enforce parking ordinances during the fair. Fair parking impacts adjoining neighborhoods and streets.

Each year, the City of Tulsa receives many inquiries and complaints regarding illegal parking on streets, in yards and driveways near the fairgrounds, the City said in a news release Wednesday.

In order to maintain access to homes and driveways for area residents and to keep streets open for emergency vehicles and to prevent unnecessary traffic congestion, parking ordinances will be enforced during the fair.

Parking is Prohibited in these areas: within 10 feet of fire hydrants, in yards (on lawn/grass), between curbs and sidewalks and on sidewalks, in tow-away areas or in 'No Parking During State Fair Dates' areas.

A parking fine could cost up to $60 and if fair attendees park on someone's lawn, the homeowner could be fined up to $500 for providing the parking space.
